1.1.1 - On creating your not-do-list, building resilience, and being a better listener
Issue #13, 8th November 2022
🎨 Visual

Everyone has a To-do list. But what about a Not-to-do list?
You focus a lot on adding stuff to your life.
A new productivity hack. One more self-help book. Another note-taking tool.
In the process of addition, we forget about the opposite - Subtraction. Simply by eliminating unnecessary things from your workflow you can achieve solid results.
Different means, same end. Build a system to focus on things you shouldn’t be doing. Make that as a standard for yourself.
Here are a few things to help you get started;
Do not check your phone for the first 30 minutes when you wake up. (Easier said that done! But keep trying.)
Do not try to please everyone
Do not agree to meetings or calls with no clear agenda or end time
📚 Quote
Greek Stoic philosopher Epictetus on obtaining the full benefits of our frameworks to build resillence,
“Don’t explain your philosophy. Embody it.”
